The following note was received from your State Department of
Education:
"We do not currently have one page that lists grant opportunities.
There are some grants that can be found through the Index to our site (a new
redesigned site is forthcoming, with a better index). Additionally,
notices of grant opportunities are often broadcast through one or more of
the electronic newsletter we operate. (http://www.dpi.state.nc.us/newsletters.html)"

If you know of NC opportunities, please send a note with the

Champions
of the Environment
Champions of the Environment is sponsored by DuPont, International Paper,
DHEC and WIS-TV. The goal of Champions of the Environment is to
promote environmental education activities throughout the State of South
Carolina. The program is open to all of South Carolina’s K-12
teachers and students. Eligible environmental projects can be
individual or a group of any size, and may or may not be associated with
school activities. South Carolina's K-12 students and teachers involved in
environmental education activities outside of school are also encouraged to
apply (4-H members, home-schoolers, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, etc.)
Projects or programs that help the environment and increase environmental
knowledge and awareness in your community that require funding outside of
your normal resources, are eligible to apply. Grants of $500 will help
support the purchase of materials and equipment associated with your
project. Student grant recipients who have developed their
environmental activities independently may choose to use their award for
future educational expenses.
Awards are made monthly. Proposals received by the 25th of the month
are eligible for the next month's award. Applications not selected will be
held over for the duration of the school year and will automatically be
considered for a grant award in subsequent months. There is no need to
reapply.
